Pinball Construction Set
Build your own pinball table, then play it.
▶ Play Pinball Construction Set free, in your browser, nothing to install
Bill Budge's Pinball Construction Set (Electronic Arts, 1983) lets you build a pinball machine on screen: take flippers, bumpers, kickers, targets, rollovers, gates and walls out of the box, put them on the table, bend the walls, paint them, wire up scores, bonuses and sounds, set gravity, speed, kick and elasticity, and play your table at once.
It was one of the first construction kits in a video game. Budge later published its source code under the MIT license.
This port is the Apple II program itself, translated routine by routine from Budge's 6502 listings and checked against them: the same hi-res screen with its colours, the same physics, scoring and sounds, the construction set with its magnifier, wiring kit and disk menu. The disk is your storage on the server; one to four players take turns at one keyboard, or play online, each at their own computer.
